aaaanyways. Today i put up a preview for Mr Happy's Corner on my Comicspace profile http://www.comicspace.com/melontheman/ it's the first five pages of chapter 5. And it contains a link to the Mr. Happys Corner main site.
So that's A+ advertisement.

Also the other day i picked up yo-yoing. it's fun! and i recommend it to everyone. My yo-yo is currently old and broken and doesn't work very well... but i shall "pimp" it out Rock and role style.

In Other news, i stopped my violin classes and I’m now taking voice lessons. i want to train my voice enough so that i can eventually sing and play an instrument at once. So this should be interesting, Very interesting indeed.

Anyways, here's some practice art I’ve been working on the past little while.

As well I’ve started working on two other main characters for Project Balance, the first is the first friend that the boy will make, this guy doesn’t have a name yet. And the other is a girl named Megan (so far) she has a pretty big role to play in the series though she won’t appear till the second part.

Also don’t forget that on the 12th of February is the 1 year anniversary of my web comic Mr. Happy’s Corner. http://mrhappyscorner.hyper-comix.com/ I’ll be attempting a syndication of the comic strip throughout the interweb, on sites like Drunk duck and Smack Jeeves… but not comic genesis I tried that site once, I disliked it so much.

writting a book about comics? building a guitar?

not very controversial I know. But i haven’t been able to find a single book, completely dedicated to the philosophy of comics in it's whole. and i want to achieve this.
i've started it off with a little blurp on my computer but i hope to expand it with lots of information from credible resources. And some personal opinions from well known and not so well known comic artists.

if you know any really good articles i could read that could further my pursuit of Comic Zen and the completion of this book, pleas e-mail me using the headline book, or comment here.

on the topics of my ART, i building an electric guitar. How cool is that eh? I got a book for Christmas called (crazily) "how to build an electric guitar" currently I thinking I’ll go with a walnut sort of wood. but i might choose red alder instead. not sure, but once I’ll for sure post photo's of the process for all of you to read.

as for Project balance. I’ve figured out a role for one of the characters i thought i had lost. this is pretty meaningless information for everyone other then me, so i can freely say i really don't have much to say about that today.
anyways I'm thinking of having a contest for my web comic for it's one year anniversary. Reason? I’ve never held a web comic longer then a month. this is groundbreaking. lol. i'm really happy with this web comic even if it is a pile of stupid. (i know it's bad grammar but seriously, that explains exactly what it is "A pile of stupid") it will end with a super big bang! you just wait and see!

back to school

yes folks, i am only 17 going on 18 here people. grade 12, homeschooled. yup that's me.

anyways, i have a new concept peace for you. this is of the main character of the project. now I’m not 100% on with this concept, i want his lips to be thinner and wider and i just don't know what to do about his nose...
anyways. i used my brother as a light and shadow model, i think that turned out well. as well i used my new 4b graphite stick for the base. it's shaped like a pencil! i got it for Christmas and it works wonders, much better then those annoying rectangular sticks.

anyways that's pretty much it for today. I got to run I’m helping take down the lights.peace out everyone.

so here you have the first of the concept sketches for "Project Balance" this is the Goddess of Life and Death. simply called Death in the series of comics.
she will only appear once or twice and simply as a side character. but she plays a larger role in the history of the universe. the other god's and goddess's wont appear in this series. so i wont be posting much if any designs for them.

anyways. so it looks like Holiday of the Living dead is going to take a few more days. i'm also going to have to cut out a few of the things i wanted to do with the action sequence. and possibly say no to the x-files scene. but i don't think i can do that last one. D: x-files is love!

the first day.

So I finished uploading all the page of Mr. Happy’s Corner plus a new page. So if you feel you want to suffer through the 40+ pages of horrific ness then check out the links panel to the right

Anyways. I got the dialogue for the action seen all recorded yesterday, and I intended to do the actually action today but that never happened. Instead I worked on my web comic as said above.

A little update for Project Balance; It will no longer be a web comic at least I don't think it will. But it will start off a project I’ve been itching to put into production for a good two years now.
I’m really pumped for this actually. The original project was created between my brother and me and was meant to be a series of animations or comics about a group of people who were randomly transported to this planet with one island on it. My brother dropped it after a while and I took it for a ride through my brain and it's turned into something very big.
So I'll most likely release the comic as a mini series, maybe three or four small graphic novels.
I’ll be able to say more about the specific story once I got the story all laid out and solid. But you can expect a series of concept art throughout the year.
